Being witchy not bitchy, thoughts from a full moon gathering and finding your gravitational pull + video of my "magic" crystals (scroll to the bottom for clip!)
🧙🏻♀️Love this witchy post, Stephanie! I’ll forward it to my friend who has been attending witchy classes. It sounds like Julia Cameron serendipity that you talked about a moon circle and then were invited one. So cool! Loved your beautiful story too. I’m a total believer and have attended a full moon zoom with Amanda Yates Garcia, The Oracle of LA. I’ll forward you the info next time it happens and maybe you and your coven 😀 can have it on in the background during your circle.
Hilary, I need to meet you in real life someday! Thank you for reading! I’m reading Julia Cameron’s book right now: write for life! It’s fun to see how much we align with our magical lives :)
Love this Stephanie, so much magic in it! I have been aligned with the moon cycle for a couple of years and it does make so much sense of a lot of things! In the wisdom that I am aligned with, which is Native American, she is grandmother moon and I often soak up her wise words and gentle tone. Such a comfort to have her there even if I can't always see her. 🙏
I am slowly discovering that there is something about the moon that is so powerful. The fact that the tides are affected by it, it shows that it's not just some magical belief, there is truth in it and we can see it! How do you find out about what wisdom aligns with you? I am so new to this, I'd love to find out how one discovers and learns this.
That's a great question Stephanie! I think I just started probably like you have with curiosity, that then opened up connections to like minded people. I trained to do Reiki healing, which again meant I met other people with similar interests. Then I worked with a spiritual mentor for a year and the rest I've done through self discovery. I think you subscribe to my newsletter and tomorrow there will be a journey to connect with your ancestral land. Have a look out for that and then let me know if you have any questions. 🙏
Love the idea of being 'witchy not bitchy'. I've been reading tarot for a while but I've only recently got into the idea of adding crystals and oracle cards as a different modality.
It's a funny little phrase but it explains what happened with a group of women on a beautiful night. The oracle deck my friend used was a perfect one to create our stories. I haven't gotten into tarot because it includes a lot of studying and I get overwhelmed. Do you have a recommendation on a starter tarot deck that is easy to follow along, if one even exists?
My kids got me into crystals. They were and are so drawn to them. We can be in a crystals shop for hours and we touch and look at so many of them, talking about their "healing" properties. It's fun to imagine the power in them. Plus they are such wonderful beauties from our earth!
For a starter deck it's hard to beat the traditional Rider Waite deck as it's so often referenced in books/guides, and the illustrations in the card can really help with learning the meanings - as well as helping to spark your own intuition and creating your own personal relationship with the cards. For a more playful and creative introduction, the Way of the Panda tarot deck is really fun.
https://themoonshedtarot.substack.com/ is a great, gentle resource to get started with. Claire is really lovely and approaches tarot from a really gentle, intuitive perspective.
Two of the cards you pulled are from one of my most used decks!! I love the depth those cards offer. The writing ritual you all did sounds so fun, makes me yearn for a circle of in person people to write and ritual with! Love that the kiddos were part of. I am curious to hear how the writing you crafted has become an invitation for you? Is there something opening in your Gifts!?
The writing practice was so awesome. It was an invitation for me to realize that what I put out into the world is a reflection of me, how I try to be authentic, and how I am always full of curiosity. What other decks do you have and love? I would love to have a collection of good ones, tried and true!

Yes to meeting! Hopefully someday soon.
Love this! I am heading out the door to go down to the bay area for my daughter's shower, but when I return next week I'll be commenting again! 💜
Have fun at her shower!

Yes! We definitely need to meet IRL, hopefully sometime soon. I haven’t read that JC book and I’m putting it on the list.
