Patricia, all your descriptions of parenting are spot on! It’s everything and anything and I know more to come and I look forward to it. My mom told me mothering never ends, even when your kids are adults. I bet you’d say the same thing.
Absolutely. Although I have learned a couple of things that I can share with you
One. Mother’s worry is the greatest thing to hold a child back Our etheric attachment goes beyond the severing of the umbilical cord. Instead of sending our children worry and imagining terrifying outcomes, send them love; see them doing well, enjoying life, and knowing that all experiences are perfect for them.
Two. The best thing we can do, have, or be for them is to make time love and care for ourselves. Then we show them it is good and proper for them to make their own self care a priority. This is important for them to see at any age. 💞
Yes to these 2! I used to pride my worry but I learned awhile back that it doesn’t help. I love this line: knowing that all experiences are perfect for them.
For #2, I learned this a lot from reading Dr. Shefali Tsabary and it’s wonderful to hear from other moms who experience this beautiful way of being a mother and human.
Ah the ocean! It fulfills me, then dumps me. Yet I keep going back for more. It’s a love-hate relationship. One phrase I use to describe the ocean is “Toughlove”. But the “love”part is indescribable!
Loved this, and wow, brought back memories of my children! I remember my son running up to me screaming and crying (about seven years old) covering one eye with his hand. It took every bit of courage I had to remove his hand from his eye and see what the problem was. Luckily it did not turn out to be anything serious. But for a few seconds I was fighting for my breath and doing my best to remain calm. Thanks for sharing your beach stories. Love the ocean! 💜
Injury to an eye is so stressful! One of my friend’s kids had two accidents near his eye and the idea of the possibilities is scary. Thankfully I knew after my freak out moment that I’d get the sand out and also this little girl was brave enough to let me get water in her eye! You never know what you’re going to get with the beach 😂
Beautiful memories... solid kudos to you for remaining calm. Your kids will only recall the dolphins because mom was under control. 💞🐬
Parenting is miraculous and hard... awesome and exhausting... heartwarming and heartwarming
Above all else, it is worth it. My baby is 27, his older brother is 28 and the first edition, also a boy, 31 in August.
The sand and screaming don’t last forever, I promise. 💞

Yes! The ocean doesn’t care what you think and acts how it wants but there’s a reason we keep coming back for more
Love this reflection and I hope you’re able to get rest and feel better soon!
Thanks Michelle! I do feel better, thank goodness! Getting sick in the summer is a weird feeling!
