Last thought: have you read this book, Rest as Resistance, by Tricia Hersey? Life-changing, and I don’t say that lightly. Take care!

I like how you’re embracing all of the feelings: the parts that are exhausted as well as the part that wants to get well.

I’m taking that insight about gaslighting yourself along with me. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Thank you for taking the time to write. It was a poignant read. Much love. We’ll be here after your break.

I know my words will be cheap as I do not struggle with the same thing.I just want to give you a digital hug and pray that your treatment somehow bounces back and you can get the same benefits again.

Your words aren't cheap! They are worth high currency over here. Thank you for coming here to say this. It means a lot!

Stephanie,

I wish you could take a plane to an island to give you complete rest, reprieve, and gather all my healing friends

Thank you, Susan! Oooooh, yes, a warm island with lots of shade (and no mosquitos!) sounds lovely.

2018 was the hardest year for me too (what’s up with that?!!) - glad you’re taking a break. Hope you feel better ♥️♥️

Wow, the both of us had the same bad year!? Thank you, Sue! Yoga teacher training has been healing through all of this.

I had a feeling something was happening with you, yes to self-care, no to the bootstraps! This post really resonated with me as I struggle with AFIB and my hiking and yoga are extremely affected. Bravo to you for pulling yourself out of what is commonly and sadly expected of today's perfect person and mother. Cheers to your new plan!

You have senses that are spot on. I can't believe you deal with AFIB! You look so strong during yoga class. I always enjoy seeing you in your physical element in class. Hopefully I can make it to a class with you soon!

Thank you, Mary! I am definitely taking some time off. It feels good to think about the break and coddles/cuddles.

Sounds very rough. Hope you get a new plan soon.

Thank you, Tamsin. I appreciate you. Part of my plan is to not write for a couple weeks and that idea alone already makes me feel better!

There’s such rich writing here, Stephanie.

First, I want to share that someone just last week shared with me that grief can get locked in our sinuses. It is one of the areas of our bodies where it can get lodged. I lost my dad in March of 2020 and when I tell you that every March since, I am sick - sinus infections that nothing will kick, I’m not kidding. My experience is not chronic like yours but I’m wondering if there might be something there to consider.

And the gaslighting of ourselves. Ugh. I pour that shit all over myself and light my own match all the time. When will I stop with that?!?!

Pain is pain is pain. We all have it. And we needn’t compare our pain to someone else’s.

Go take that time to rest and cuddle all your kiddies and your hubby. You are worth slowing down for. 💕
