We love a love story. This one comes from Melissa Staricka, who was fostered and adopted as a baby. We often hear about sad and tragic stories about a failed foster system, about how it’s incredibly hard for parents to adopt, or how many children never get placed in a safe home. Yes, these do happen, unfortunately. But you can find trust in the good — there are positive foster and adoption stories.
Melissa shares her experience being fostered then adopted, how she found out she was adopted, and what it was like to learn more about her birth parents as she grew older and became a mother.
Melissa is a ray of light and Steph and Vanessa are honored to hear her beautiful childhood and how it has shaped who she’s become as a mother, a sister, a wife, and a business owner.
Melissa Staricka is the owner of Avo Aesthetics and Med Spa. She is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Loma Linda University, followed by her Master's degree from the University of Washington. Her medical knowledge and experience include emergency room, urgent care, family practice, dermatology, and aesthetics.
